Forestry Plantation Authorisation - New South Wales

Description

You will need this authorisation if you intend to operate a forestry plantation with an area greater than 30 hectares. There are two classes of plantation:

  • timber plantations (commercial species for harvest)
  • plantations other than timber plantations (for the protection of the environment by reducing salinity, or carbon sequestration / trading).

Please be aware that the establishment, management and any harvesting operations on authorised plantations must comply with the plantations code (found on the Agency website). If your plantation is likely to have an impact on unique or special wildlife (flora or fauna) you will need to notify the agency.
