Ground Applicator Licence - New South Wales

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to undertake ground applicator work. Ground applicator work is the use of pesticides (other than fumigants) for the control of weeds or of pests affecting plants or soils. There are situations where you will not require this licence, including the use of pesticides for agricultural or horticultural purposes.

You will not require this licence if you intend to undertake ground applicator work on your own land or on the land owned or occupied by a relative.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Exemptions

This licence does not apply to:

  • work as an employee of a local or State public authority
  • farmers or their employees using pesticides on their own land, or land belonging to a family member
  • any spraying of plants that falls within the domestic like use exemption.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • provide evidence that you are 18 years of age or over
  • be considered a fit a proper person to hold the licence
  • provide proof of attainment of the relevant qualifications
  • hold an insurance policy or be eligible to obtain one
  • submit the required form
  • pay any required fees.
