Hotel Licence (Liquor) - New South Wales

You will need this licence if you operate premises with the primary purpose of selling alcohol to the public for consumption on and off premises. This licence can be granted for a variety of venues including hotels with accommodation, pubs and large bars.

Your licence will include specific conditions if you intend to sell alcohol for takeaway and consumption off the premises. You can apply for a general bar hotel licence if you intend to run a bar that does not provide gaming or sell takeaway alcohol.

There is a liquor licensing freeze that applies to certain types of liquor licences and trading authorisations for premises in prescribed freeze precincts in the City of Sydney local government area.
