You will need this accreditation if you intend to provide interlock services. Interlock services include the supply, installation, removal, inspection, testing and maintenance of interlock devices and collection and provision of data concerning the installation and use of interlock devices.
An interlock is an electronic breath testing device connected to the ignition of a vehicle. It prevents the vehicle from starting if alcohol is detected. Drivers that have been convicted of high range, repeat or other serious drink-driving offences are required to have an interlock device in their car.
You will need to enter into an agreement with the agency that will cover:
- the pricing arrangements for provision of interlock services
- setting and maintenance of service standards
- the provision, sharing and protection of data recorded on interlock devices.
Please be aware that the functions of an accredited interlock service provider may be exercised by an authorised employee or agent of the accredited interlock service provider.
