Licence to Cultivate or Supply Low-THC Hemp - New South Wales

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to cultivate or supply low-THC hemp for any of the following purposes:

  • commercial production
  • use in any manufacturing process
  • scientific research, instruction, analysis or study
  • any other purpose prescribed by the regulation.

Low-THC hemp is a plant of cannabis that has a concentration of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) in its leaves and flowering heads of not more than one per cent. This includes the seed of any such plant and any product (such as oil or fibre) derived from any such plant.

This licence will enable you to carry out your activity under strictly controlled conditions.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • submit an application on the approved form
  • provide proof of your (and any close associates') name, address, date of birth and contact details
  • describe the purpose for which the licence is required and the nature of the activities proposed to be carried out under the licence
  • describe the intended use and relevant destination of the low-THC hemp that is to be cultivated or supplied under the proposed licence
  • provide two passport-sized photos of your face and any close associate if applicable
  • provide details of any previous drug related offences of both yourself and any close associate
  • provide details of any prior refusal or suspension of similar licences for yourself and any close associates
  • provide a description and plan of the property on which the low-THC hemp is to be cultivated
  • provide any other documentation as specified in the regulation for each specific licence category
  • pay the appropriate fees.
