Mooring Licence - New South Wales

Description

You will require a mooring licence in order to occupy moorings in NSW. There are different types of mooring licences, which include:

  • private mooring licences - authorises a specified vessel to occupy a specified mooring
  • commercial mooring licences - authorises the licensee to allow vessels associated with their business to occupy a specified mooring
  • courtesy mooring licences - authorises the licensee to allow any vessel to occupy a specified mooring
  • emergency mooring licences - authorises the licensee to allow any vessel to occupy a specified mooring under emergency circumstances.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • submit an application form
  • provide a copy of your Certificate of Registration of business name or Certificate of Incorporation. If you are a sole trader or partnership without a registered business name you must provide a copy of the ABN Advice Certificate or Statutory Declaration stating the nature of your business
  • provide a detailed description of your proposed usage of the mooring site and any associated shore-based facilities (land-based marine facilities and services)
  • provide proof of identify for both your business entity and nominated representative
  • comply with the current planning control instruments
  • pay the relevant fees.
