Network Operator Licence - New South Wales

Description

You will need this licence if you are a corporation (other than a public water utility) and intend to construct, maintain or operate any water industry infrastructure. Water industry infrastructure is used for the production, treatment, filtration, storage, conveyance or reticulation of water or sewerage.

Specifically, this licence entitles you to:

  • carry out work on or under public roads and public reserves to construct water industry infrastructure
  • require landowners to stop trees and other structures on their land from damaging their infrastructure
  • retain ownership of all water industry infrastructure you construct
  • appoint meter readers to enter private premises to read meters that measure the supply of water.
