Offshore Pipeline Licence - New South Wales

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to construct, alter or operate an offshore petroleum pipeline in NSW.

The licence will allow you to operate, commence or continue construction, alteration or reconstruction of a:

  • pipeline
  • secondary line or water line
  • pumping station, tank station or value.

This licence applies to activities within three nautical miles from the NSW coast.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must provide:

  • proposed design, construction, size and capacity of the pipeline
  • proposals of the work and expenditure in respect of the construction of the pipeline
  • evidence of technical qualifications and advice available
  • evidence of the financial resources available
  • evidence of any agreements entered into, or proposed to be entered into, for or in relation to the supply or conveyance by means of the pipeline
  • a plan, drawn to an approved scale, of the route to be followed by the pipeline, the sites of pumping stations, tank stations and valve stations to be used in connection with the pipeline and the site of any pumping station, tank station or valve station that you intend to be declared to be a terminal station on connection with the pipeline.
