You will require this licence if you intend to undertake fumigation work or pest management technician work (pest control services).
Fumigation work is the use of fumigants for the prevention, control or eradication of pests. Pest management technician work is the use of pesticides (other than fumigants) for the prevention, control or eradication of pests. There are situations where you will not require this licence including the use of pesticides for agricultural or horticulture purposes. Please be aware that if you intend to carry out both fumigation and pest management technician work, you will require two licences. You cannot apply for a combined licence.
Please be aware that prior to 1 September 2015, this licence was referred to as a certificate of competency. If you hold a certificate of competency under the old licensing regime, it will continue to be recognised until its expiry date. When you renew your licence, it will them be recognised under the current system.
