You will require this licence if you intend to work as a professional hunter in NSW. A professional hunter is a person (other than a commercial hunter or hunting guide) who hunts game animals in the course of any paid employment or engagement. This licence authorises you to hunt deer and other game animals on private land. It does not allow you to hunt on public land, or to guide others or sell any part of the harvested animal. Game and feral animals includes, but is not limited to:
- wild deer such as sambar and fallow
- game birds (other than native game birds) such as California quail and pheasant
- feral animals such as pigs, foxes and rabbits
- ducks under the game bird management program.
