Description

You will need this permit if you intend to deal with prohibited matter. Prohibited matter is something deemed as a biosecurity threat and is listed in legislation.

Permits may be granted to individuals and specific class of persons. The permit authorises people to engage in conduct that would otherwise be prohibited. Engaging in such conduct without a permit constitutes an offence.

A permit does not authorise any conduct in contravention of an emergency order or a biosecurity direction given in the case of an emergency. You may apply for an Emergency Permit that authorises conduct that contravenes an emergency order.
