Prohibited Weapons - Club Approval - New South Wales

Description

You will require this approval if you operate a weapons club and intend to operate as a collectors club or society, or as a historical or commemorative club or society.

Gaining club approval means that club members can use their membership to support the genuine reasons of historical re-enactment or weapons collection when applying for a Prohibited Weapons Permit. Please refer to the Schedule 1 Prohibited Weapons document for a full list of prohibited weapons in NSW.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this approval, your club must:

  • have been established for at least 3 months
  • have at least 10 active members
  • be affiliated with an approved peak firearms association, which has recommended the granting of the approval
  • provide details of full name, date of birth and residential address of each club member
  • provide a copy of the rules of the club and constitution
  • provide details of any training activities undertaken
  • provide any other information and documentation as requested.

Ongoing unless revoked.
