Prohibited Weapons - Collector Permit - New South Wales

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to possess prohibited weapons for the following reasons:

  • for maintaining the weapons as a collection
  • to display the weapons for educational, historical or commemorative purposes.

This permit does not authorise you to use any of the prohibited weapons.

Licence

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit:

  • the collection of prohibited weapons must have genuine commemorative, historic, thematic or financial value
  • you must be a current member of a weapon collectors' society or weapon collectors' club
  • your proposed storage site and storage arrangements for the collection of prohibited weapons must be inspected and approved by local police.
