Prohibited Weapons - General Commissioner's Permit - New South Wales

Description

You can apply for this permit if you intend to possess or use a prohibited weapon for a purpose not covered by an existing prohibited weapons permit. You must be able to prove that you have a genuine reason to possess or use the weapon. Please refer to the Schedule 1 Prohibited Weapons document for a full list of prohibited weapons in NSW.

Licence

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

Anyone who has a genuine reason to possess and / or use a prohibited weapon can apply.

To be eligible for this permit you must:

  • Complete the application form and genuine reason form with the required documentation; and
  • Pay the required fee.

Duration

The permit will be issued for a maximum term of 5 years.
