Prohibited Weapons - Production Permit - New South Wales

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to possess or use prohibited weapons in a film, television or theatrical production. This permit will allow you, or a person nominated by you, to use the weapon, but only in connection with the production specified. Any person nominated by you and listed on the permit must be supervised by you whilst using the prohibited weapon.

This permit is issued when weapons are hired from a theatrical armourer who is not present on site supervising the possession and use of the weapons during production. Please refer to the Schedule 1 Prohibited Weapons document for a full list of prohibited weapons in NSW.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit the possession or use of the prohibited weapon must be for film, television or a theatrical production.

Duration

The permit will be issued from one day prior to rehearsals to one day after completion of the production to a maximum term of 5 years.
