Public Gate Permit - Wollongong City Council - New South Wales

Description

You will require a permit to erect a gate on a public road adjacent to your property. Public gates can only be erected where the public road intersects a boundary fence.

The holder of a public gate permit must ensure that:

  • a notice that complies with the relevant requirements is visible on the gate
  • both the gate and the notice are maintained in good condition.

To be eligible for this permit you must adhere to Council guidelines. Guidelines include but are not limited to:

  • Electrified gates not being permitted; and
  • Gates on roads with a traffic volume greater than 20 vehicles per day are not permitted unless they are located adjacent to a grid.
