Radiation Management Licence - New South Wales

Description

You will need this licence if you are responsible for the management of regulated radioactive material. You will be considered responsible for radioactive material if own, store, possess, sell or give away material including:

  • sealed source devices
  • ionising radiation apparatus
  • any radioactive substances.

There are two types of licence that you can apply for:

  • own, store, give away, sell and possess radioactive material
  • sell radioactive material.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

You must be a fit and proper person to be eligible for this licence.

Duration

A sell only licence may be valid for either 1 year or 3 years. A management licence (to sell, possess, store or give away) is issued for a period of 1 year.
