You will require a recognised competency card if you intend to sell, supply or serve liquor at any licensed premises. To obtain a competency card you must have completed a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course delivered by an approved training organisation in NSW. You will need this card to perform any of the following roles:
- licensee
- approved manager
- staff, including promotional staff, involved in the sale, supply and service of alcohol
- volunteers, including club directors, who have liquor service responsibilities
- security officers with crowd control duties.
When you have completed your course you will be provided with an interim certificate. This certificate will only allow you to work for 90 days. You are also required to get a photo competency card.
