Recognition of a School Outside NSW - NSW - Australian Business Licence and Information Service

Description

You will need this approval if you operate an interstate or international school and you intend to submit candidates for the NSW Record of School Achievement or NSW Higher School Certificate.

The agency generally gives preference to applications from schools located in similar time zones so that examinations can be conducted at the same time as for NSW students.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for recognition, you must provide information about your proposed application by completing an expression of interest form. The expression of interest form will require you to demonstrate your capacity to satisfy certain criteria, including the:

school has approval to operate as a school by the appropriate government authority
proprietor of the school is a legal entity approved by the appropriate government authority
school has a viable potential candidature for the NSW Record of School Achievement and / or Higher School Certificate
school has the capacity to administer the Higher School Certificate examinations at the same time as they are undertaken by students in New South Wales in a secure manner
school and its proprietor have the credibility, financial and educational resources, experience and enrolment (or potential enrolment) to ensure the viability of the proposal
school can and will safeguard the reputation of the Board and of the NSW Record of School Achievement and / or Higher School Certificate.
