Registration and Naming of a Horse (Harness Racing) - New South Wales

Description

You will need to register and name your horse intended for harness racing.

Once your horse is registered, you will be issued with a registration certificate. You cannot enter your horse into a race unless it is registered.

Please be aware that:

  • any horse registered in a country other than Australia may be endorsed to race in Australia for twelve months
  • you must comply with the relevant rules and your registration may be subject to conditions.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration, the horse must:

  • be the progeny of a registered standardbred sire and a registered standardbred mare
  • conform with the relevant stud book regulations and rules of racing
  • be branded or have another form of approval identification.

You must submit the required form with any documentation, information and fees required by the Agency.
