Registration of a Funeral Contribution Fund - New South Wales

Description

You will need to be registered to operate a funeral contribution fund. This includes providing services that allow members of the fund to pay periodic contributions, and the fund agrees to either supply a funeral service or pay a sum of money for the purposes of meeting in whole or in part the expenses associated with a funeral.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration, you must:

  • be a company registered under the Corporations Act 2001 with a minimum of three directors
  • provide statements that the applicant and any directors, trustees or officers have no prior convictions of offences in relation to dishonesty or fraud or any other offence, and whether any have been declared bankrupt or disqualified from practising any profession in relation to business
  • provide statement of funds incomes and expenditures for next three financial years
  • provide two character references for each director, trustee or officer.
