Registration of an Aboriginal Community Housing Organisation - New South Wales

Description

You will need this registration if you intend to provide housing or housing services for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities. This registration ensures that high quality housing and housing services are provided to communities that are eligible for this support.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration, your organisation must:

  • be an Aboriginal Land Council or Aboriginal organisation that owns a portfolio of housing used for social housing purposes
  • agree to have your properties managed by an Aboriginal Community Housing Provider (ACHP) registered under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH) or NSW Local Scheme (NSWLS)
  • negotiate and submit a management agreement with the ACHP of your choice
  • agree to a rent optimisation plan for your properties and provide progress reports every 6 months
