Description

You will require this licence if you intend to repair flexible reeling, feeder and trailing cables for use in hazardous zones within a coal mine.

Every coal mine is required to have an electrical management plan. The plan must include provision for the repair of flexible reeling, trailing and feeder cables. These repair works must only be repaired at licensed facilities.

Hazardous zones include:

  • a return airway in a mine
  • certain parts of the intake airway in a ventilation district in a mine
