Retrieving Trial Firearms Permit - New South Wales

Description

This permit will authorise you, on behalf of a club affiliated with the Australian National Kennel Council, to possess and use firearms in retrieving trials for dogs.

 

A retrieving trial is an event involving registered gundogs which simulates a hunting situation. Shotguns are used during the retrieving trial to discharge primers.

 

Please be aware that this permit also authorises possession of non-prohibited firearms for the purpose of enabling other persons (club members) to participate in retrieving trials.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must:

 

  • submit the application form and legitimate reason form accompanied by all requested documentation
  • provide proof of identity (if no other NSW firearms licence or permit is held or has been held)
  • pay the required fees.

Please be aware that if you have never held a firearms licence or permit in NSW, or you do not currently hold an equivalent issued firearms licence or permit interstate, you may be required to complete a firearm safety training course.
