Safari / Hunting (Overseas Participant) Permit - New South Wales

Description

You will need this permit if you are from overseas (outside of Australia) and you intend to visit NSW, and to possess firearms for the purpose of participating in an organised safari tour, or hunting trip.

This permit authorises the possession and use of category A and B firearms only, for the purpose of participating in an organised safari tour by a safari tour permit holder, or an approved hunting club.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • not be a resident of Australia and intend to visit NSW for safari/hunting purposes
  • submit the application form and genuine reason form with the required documentation
  • pay the required fee.

Commencement

The permit issue date will be one day prior to your arrival in NSW and the permit will expire the date of your departure from NSW. The permit can be issued to you either before arrival in NSW or after arrival.
