Seafood Licence - New South Wales

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to operate a seafood business that includes undertaking activities such as harvesting, catching, processing, packaging, storing, transporting and wholesaling seafood.

Please note that:

  • this licence does not apply to the retail sale of seafood
  • if you operate a business involving shellfish you will require a different licence. For instance bivalve molluscs (for example, cockles, clams, mussels, oysters, pipis and scallops) for cultivation and / harvest
  • all seafood product businesses must comply with relevant parts of the Food Standards Code
  • depending on the nature of your activities you may need to have an audited Food Safety Program in place for your business.
