In certain circumstances, you will require this licence to ensure your development proposal is in keeping with the land use of the surrounding area.

Development types where a site compatibility certificate may be applicable include:

  • housing for seniors or people with a disability
  • infrastructure projects
  • educational and childcare establishments
  • affordable rental housing.

The application fee for each site compatibility certificate is as follows:

  • Affordable rental housing site: $265, plus $42 for each dwelling planned within the development.
  • Infrastructure project site: $265, plus $265 for each hectare of land in respect of which the certificate will be issued.
  • Housing for seniors or the disabled: $280, plus $45 per bed in the proposed facility.

However, the total fee for a site compatibility certificate application will not exceed $5,580.
