You may need this approval if you intend to operate a business that provides a state regulated education and care service. State regulated education and cares services are services involving the education of, or care for children under the age of six who do not attend school, in the form of:
- home-based services: provided at the home of the carer
- mobile services: visits specific premises, areas or places at specified times for the purposes of providing education or care
- centre-based occasional services: provided at fixed premises other than the home of the carer
- budget-based funded services: does not receive the Child Care Benefit.
If your education or care service does not fall within one of the categories listed above, you may require a nationally recognised approval.
