Transport Certificate - New South Wales

Description

You are required to obtain a transport certificate when transporting hazardous waste. A transport certificate is used to record the transportation of a load of trackable waste from the consignor to the receiving facility. A printed transport certificate must accompany every load of trackable waste and must be specific to the individual load.

All waste consignors involved in the transportation of waste share the responsibility of ensuring a transport certificate is correct. Waste consignors includes waste producers, transporters and receiving facility managers.

  • the intended date of delivery
  • the date of receiving facility's acceptance or rejection of the waste
  • the date the waste is disposed of, treated or temporarily stored
  • the date rejected waste arrives back at the consignor's premises

The receiving waste facility must retain a transport certificate for four years from receipt of the waste.
