Works Licence (Offshore Minerals) - New South Wales

Description

You may need this licence if you intend to conduct mineral exploration and / or production activities in NSW's offshore area.

A works licence is required before you can conduct activities that fall outside the scope of your current offshore exploration, retention or mining licence. The proposed work must be directly connected to the activities authorised under your current licence.

NSW's offshore area extends to three nautical miles from the coastal baseline. If you intend to undertake exploration activities outside this area, you will need to apply for a licence under Commonwealth legislation.
