Antique Firearms Collector's Licence - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to possess and display firearms of categories A, B, C, D, or H that were manufactured before 1 January 1900.

Licence holders must:

  • comply with the relevant safe keeping and storage requirements under the Firearms Act 1997
  • not permit any unauthorised person to possess or use a firearm in the holder's possession
  • permit a police officer to inspect, at any reasonable time, the holder's facilities for the storage and safe keeping of firearms
  • not possess an amount of ammunition that exceeds the amount authorised in writing by the Commissioner.

  • produce evidence to the Commissioner's satisfaction that you have a genuine reason for the licence and for possessing and collecting firearms
  • be at least 18 years of age

  • comply with the safe keeping practices prescribed in the Act and by the Commissioner
  • provide a letter outlining the reason for wanting this licence and the theme and structure of the proposed collection.
