Approval to Conduct a Foreign Lottery - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this approval if you intend to conduct a foreign lottery. A foreign lottery is a lottery conducted outside the Northern Territory and is authorised and regulated by another country or Australian state.

The following conditions apply to all approvals:

  • tickets can only be sold for the purpose that was approved by the Minister
  • all proceeds from the lottery must be remitted from the Northern Territory.

To be eligible you must:

  • be a person of good repute
  • have a sound and stable financial background
  • have sufficient business ability to establish and maintain the lottery
  • ensure all managers involved in the operation of the lottery are of good repute and are fit and proper people to act in that position.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

You must submit monthly returns of tickets sold in the Northern Territory.
