Description

You will need this permit if you intend to undertake a commercial fishing operation. An approved operator is someone who is in charge of commercial fishing operations.

The number of licences available in a fishery may be restricted.

To be eligible, you must:

  • complete an interview with an Aquatic Resource Manager relevant to the fisheries that you are seeking approval for
  • be a fit and proper person
  • have a coxswain certificate as a minimum
  • complete a 'Fishing Rules' interview
  • undertake a National Police Check.
