Authorisation to Use or Possess S7 Pesticides and / or Restricted Chemical Products - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this authorisation if you intend to possess and use schedule 7 pesticides and restricted chemical products.

Schedule 7 chemicals are considered dangerous poisons which need special precautions for manufacture, handling and use. You will not be granted authorisation if you do not have a genuine purpose for use, or your proposed use poses an unacceptable risk to health, the environment or trade.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • have a current AusChem, ChemCert or SMARTtrain level 3 accreditation or equivalent
  • be a suitable person to hold the authorisation
  • have a genuine purpose for using the chemical
  • have an address and storage place, where the chemical can be stored securely.

Duration

Maximum of 2 years but no longer than the duration of the qualification.
