Authority to Purchase Prohibited Weapons or Body Armour - Northern Territory

Description

You will require specific purchase authority to purchase prohibited weapons or body armour. Body armour is a garment or item that is designed, intended or adapted for the purpose of protecting the body from the effects of a weapon, including a firearm. Prohibited weapons are prescribed under the regulation. 

A separate specific purchase authority is required for each prohibited weapon or body armour you intend to purchase.

To be eligible you must:

  • be the holder of an approval to purchase and possess a prohibited weapon or body armour of the type to which the authority is to relate; or
  • be exempt from compliance in relation to the purchase and possession of prohibited weapons or body armour generally or a prohibited weapon or body armour to the types to which the authority is to relate.
