Certifying Plumber and Drainer Registration - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this registration if you intend to conduct business as a certifying plumber and drainer. Certifying plumber and drainers certify the design and / or construction of plumbing and drainage works in all classes of buildings. They also certify the construction of hydraulic fire services such as fire hydrants and fire hose reels in accordance with the provisions of the Building Code of Australia.

You can apply for this licence as an individual or corporation.

If you are an interstate applicant, you may be eligible to obtain a licence through mutual recognition.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration as an individual, you must:

  • hold a current NT Advanced Tradesman Licence in both Plumbing and Drainage
  • be a fit and proper person to hold this registration.

To be eligible for this registration as a company, you must provide:

  • an ASIC full company extract (no more than 28 days old)
  • a copy of either your Certification of Incorporation or Registration of Business Name
  • details of at least one director or nominee that is a qualified to supervise and carry out work on behalf of the corporation.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

You must comply with continuous professional development requirements.
