Commercial Passenger Vehicle Operator Accreditation - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this accreditation if you intend to operate a commercial passenger vehicle in the Northern Territory. Commercial passenger vehicles include:

  • limousines
  • minibuses
  • motor omnibuses
  • private hires
  • special function vehicles
  • special passenger vehicles
  • taxis
  • tourist vehicles.

You can apply for accreditation as an individual or a company. Your accreditation may be cancelled if you are convicted of a disqualifiying offence or are deemed not fit and proper to hold accreditation.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this accreditation, you must:

  • be a fit and proper person
  • complete and submit a National Police Certificate
  • provide a national police certificate supplied by Safe NT dated within three months
  • provide an insolvency check from the Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) dated within three months
