Development Fishery Licence - Northern Territory

Description

You will be required to apply for this licence if you intend to trial new fishing gear and fishing methods and/or catch new target species. Applicants may be subject to a Bioprospecting Permit.

The applicant must complete a detailed fishing proposal on the type of operation to be undertaken, species to be caught and gear type to be utilised under the licence. Further advice can be obtained from the Development Permit Executive Officer.

Each permit is subject to performance criteria and is only valid for one licensing year.

Licence

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Duration

Must not be granted for more than one year, and must not be renewed more than four times.

Fees

$1,255 annual licence fee, plus NT Seafood Council levy (2019-20).

Cash, Credit Card/ EFTPOS, cheque or money order.

Additional information

A written proposal must be submitted to the Development Committee.
