Firearms Club Licence - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this licence if your club intends to own firearms the use of club members.

A firearms club may include the following and operate for purposes connected with the discharge of firearms:

  • shooting unions
  • associations
  • clubs
  • other groups of people.

Your club must be licensed and have the facilities used by the club inspected by a qualified range inspector and approved by the Commissioner of Police as being safe for use by club members as well as the public.

Due to the specialised nature of this type of licence, applicants are advised to contact the agency for further advice.

Eligibility requirements

A club representative must be nominated and be responsible for the management of the licence and firearms. The club representative must hold a firearms licence and be a resident of the Northern Territory. 

Where the club has more than one club representative, a primary club representative must be nominated.
