Description

You will need this licence if you intend to occupy an area to assess the economic potential of the geothermal resources. It gives the holder the right to occupy the licence area and the exclusive right to conduct activities to evaluate the potential of the geothermal resources in the area but not the right to produce geothermal energy commercially.

Geothermal energy is a low-emission alternative energy source to traditional fossil fuels. Heat from the earth, carried by hot water, can be used to generate electricity. It can also be used in industry, agriculture and for heating and cooling buildings and homes.
