Interstate Retailer Licence (Liquor) - Northern Territory

Description

If you are a licensed liquor retailer based outside of the NT (an interstate retailer), and you intend to sell liquor by retail to purchasers who are in the NT, or for delivery to any location within the NT, you are required to hold an interstate retail licence.

Eligibility requirements

A licensed interstate retailer is also required to comply with the conditions of their home state or territory licence as well as complying with certain requirements of the NT Act including:

  • that liquor must not be sold in the NT unless authorised by licence (penalties apply).
  • the sale price at which a liquor product is sold, or offered for sale, in the NT is not below the minimum unit price of $1.30 per standard drink.
  • providing certain data, to be collected and submitted to the regulator, under regulations, to be used to assess the impact of the minimum price on reducing alcohol related harms.
  • obligations in relation to liquor promotions.
