Jigging Fishery Licence - Northern Territory


You will need to apply for the jigging fishery licence, if you intend to commercially jig for squid.

This fishery is presently closed and no new licences will be issued. There is currently one Jigging Fishery Licence. The existing licence holder may temporarily transfer (lease) or permanently transfer (sell) the licence on receiving the Director's approval. Stamp duty must be paid on the sale before the Director's approval.

$1,195 annual licence fee, plus NT Seafood Council Levy.

Additional information

The only fishing gear you can use under this licence, is jigging gear.

You must not take barramundi, king threadfin, spanish mackarel, shark, other fin fish or mud crab.
