You will need this licence in order to possess, cultivate, process or supply low tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) hemp for commercial purposes. THC holds a psychoactive component and low THC hemp refers to hemp plants with a THC concentration of less than one per cent in the leaves, flowering heads or seeds. Supplying low THC hemp means to distribute, give, trade or transport.
There are three types of licence:
- commercial licence
- class A research licence - for the research of industrial hemp
- class B research licence - for the research of hemp.
