Description

You will need this licence if you intend to use your premises to administer electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).

ECT is a medical procedure performed under general anaesthesia which utilises electricity induced seizures for therapeutic purposes. ECT is most commonly used to treat severe depression, but is also used for mania, schizophrenia, catatonia and other neuropsychiatric conditions.
