Description

You will need to comply with this code if you conduct a business that involves management of noise in the workplace or if you have a duty to manage noise in the workplace.

You may achieve compliance with your legislative requirements through another method if it provides an equivalent or higher standard of work health and safety.

Duties in relation to how to manage and control noise and prevent hearing loss in the workplace include:

  • measuring noise levels to confirm that control measures are achieving expected attenuation
  • management of any training and supervision that may be needed in the workplace
  • management of control measures for temporary work areas and situations
  • putting in place effective timeframes for reviewing noise assessments and control measures.
