Multiple Purpose Taxi Licence - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this licence to operate a multiple purpose taxi for hire or reward.

A multiple purpose taxi (MPT) is a vehicle that is fitted, equipped and approved by the Director of Commercial Passenger Transport to carry at least four passengers and one wheelchair.

MPT operators must provide a priority service to wheelchair-bound people, and at other times, may be operated as a normal taxi.

If your MPT is unavailable due to repairs and maintenance, you can apply to substitute it for a wheelchair accessible taxi.
