Notification of Work - Northern Territory

Description

You will need to notify NT Build if you intend to undertake eligible construction work and may need to pay a levy. A levy is calculated as a percentage of the cost of the construction work and is payable on all eligible construction projects of at least either:

  • $1 million or more in value for projects that started on or after 7 April 2014
  • $200,000 or more in value for projects that started before 7 April 2014, regardless of the completion date.

Payment of the levy is made by the owner / developer undertaking the work. Where the work is to be done for the Australian government or interstate government entity, payment is made by the principal contractor.
