Permit to Hunt on a Park or Reserve - Northern Territory

Description

You will be required to apply for this permit if you intend to hunt magpie geese, waterfowl and pigs in the Northern Territory during the hunting season. This includes hunting inside and outside of Parks and Wildlife hunting reserves.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to apply for a geese and waterfowl hunting permit, you must have a current shooters licence issued by an Australian state or territory.

To be eligible to apply for a pig hunting permit you must have a current Northern Territory shooters licence.

Duration

Permits last for one or five years.

Fees

$10 for 1 year permit - Pig Hunting
$40 for 5 year permit - Pig Hunting
$20 for 1 year permit - Waterfowl Hunting
$80 for 5 year permit - Waterfowl Hunting

Additional information

After each waterfowl season you must submit a permit return to the Parks and Wildlife Commission recording the birds you have killed.

The permit to hunt pigs only allows you to hunt pigs in the two dedicated reserves - Shoal Bay reserve and Harrison Dam, you must not hunt outside of these areas.
