Pet Meat Slaughter Licence - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to slaughter animals to sell for pet meat. Pet meat is fresh, chilled or frozen body, carcass or flesh derived from an animal that is intended to be fed to pets. The meat must be sold to a licensed pet meat processor, unless approved otherwise.

There are strict conditions on the licence surrounding hygiene, slaughter, shooting, selling and transporting pet meat.

You can apply for this licence as an individual or a company. If you are applying as a company or do not intend to carry out day to day management of operations yourself, you must nominate a manager.
