Pilot (Chemical Rating) Licence - Northern Territory


Persons intending to carry out aerial spraying must have a Pilot (Chemical Rating) Licence. A pilot must be employed by a licensed Aerial Spraying business even if they are self employed.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Current Commercial Pilots Licence with Agricultural Rating; and
  • Evidence that the applicant is a holder of a certificate of approval issued under the Spray Safe Accreditation Program, conducted by the Aerial Agricultural Association of Australia.


Up to a maximum of 3 years, expiring on the 30 June of relevant year (Only valid whilst Spray Safe Accreditation is current).
